Getting patients to your website is an achievement in itself, it likely means you are ranking well in the search engines and/or have been recommended by word of mouth. Either way, you’re off to a great start. However, once a patients is on your website, how likely are they to pick up the phone and make an appointment?
7 tips to ensure website conversions:
1 – It is vitally important that the website has a considered patient journey making for a positive user experience. Make it easy for patients to find important information in no more than 2 clicks.
2 – Use ‘real’ photography and videography over stock wherever possible. People buy people.
3 – Don’t make users wait! A slow website will have even the most patient of people clicking the ‘back’ button.
4 – Keep things focused. Avoid having too many messages on the website, it will confuse the user and no action will transpire.
5 – Update the website often. Outdated or inaccurate information reflects poorly on the practice.
6 – Make it easy to contact you. Be it telephone, email, live chat or social channels, don’t make a patient have to work hard to talk to you.
7 – Cater for mobiles. If your website isn’t as effective on mobile as it is desktop, it’s costing you. Users will invariably look elsewhere if the mobile experience is frustrating them.
Try and visit your website as if it’s the first time you’ve ever seen it, if you think some or any of the above can be improved, take action. You don’t get a second chance to make a first impression.
