Here at dental design we always stress the importance of mobile sites and how they benefit local dental practices. Now Google is reiterating our point in their recent blog post about mobile local search ads being “so hot right now”.
By creating a mobile phone targeted pay per click campaign, the ads are more useful for both the consumer and the dental practice. This is because they have a click to call facility. Click to call drives millions of calls per week to thousands of businesses, as it reduces barriers to making contact; its more convenient rather than having the hassle of finding a pen to write down the number etc in which many potential patients in the funnel could be lost.
Furthermore, Google’s hyperlocal search ads contain relevant information such as phone numbers, driving directions and how far away patients are from the practice’s specific location. The high relevancy of these hyperlocal search ads make users much more likely to make contact and become a potential patient.
Additionally, proximity has become a large factor in the rankings of mobile ads. This means that if the consumer’s mobile phone is physically close to the practice, their ad will be more successful in adwords and appear in a more prominent position when using location extensions.
To conclude, mobile targeted advertising has huge advantages for local search and therefore gaining patients in your local area. As Google quite rightly say at the end of their blog post, the most exciting thing is that the possibilities for mobile search is almost endless and its fantastic that practices and patients alike are beginning to take advantage of this new mobile world.
