Optimising Meta data – titles and descriptions
The meta data on your website is important and needs to be optimised correctly to signal to Google what your page should be found for. The title tag on each page needs to contain the keywords you would like to be found for but also follow Google’s guidelines to not appear spammy. The meta description, whilst not necessarily a ranking factor, can help with the website’s click through rate, as the more appealing the description is the more likely users will click on your result when they carry out a search.
Internal linking
Your webpages need to link to other pages on your website to help users navigate through your site. However this isn’t the only reason you should be linking to other pages on your website, as if done correctly you can also pass on some SEO benefit to these pages.
Link building and Citation building
This is one of the most important SEO strategies to have if you are serious about improving your online visibility. Building links back to your website and citations of your business else where on the web helps build up your website’s authority, with each link or citation acting as a “vote” to your website.
The problem many people face is that they sometimes build the wrong links, and instead of helping the website they actually harm the website’s SEO.
