478458081smallThe online environment is constantly changing and so are the ways to be competitive. When marketing your practice online you need to keep a keen eye on your competition and what they are doing to help their presence.

Here are some things to consider to help improve your online presence:

Do I Need a Redesign?

We have found that many potential patients will definitely judge a book by its cover, if the site doesn’t look right you might be losing potential patients. With this in mind ask yourself the following questions:

  • Does your site look old in comparison to your competition?
  • Does it reflect the look of your practice?

Be critical about your site and the way it looks, if it looks old and tired it will give your potential patients a negative feeling towards your practice, even if the practice itself provides the best service in the area.

Is Your Site Mobile Friendly?

With the increase in the number of people using their phones, out and about, to find a dental practice, it is vitally important to make sure that your site looks and functions perfectly on these devices. You must have come across a few sites on your phone that you find hard to navigate, forcing you to pinch the screen to zoom in to read text or find the correct button to click. Your experience on these sites might be the similar experience your potential patients are having on your site. Having a mobile site or better still a responsive site gives your potential patients a better user experience and allows them to navigate through the site with ease.

Using PPC Advertising

If you are looking to increase the exposure of your practice or have a treatment you are trying to promote then PPC (pay per click) advertising can definitely help you. We have found that many practices wishing to promote treatments to a wider audience in the surrounding areas of their practice have done so with success.

Content

Having your own unique content throughout your site can help your SEO efforts. However why not keep up your content marketing efforts with a content management system and blog to share practice news etc that your existing and potential patients can read and enjoy and can give them more of a connection to your practice.

Social media

If you are trying to engage more with your patients why not include social media in your online marketing efforts. The use of Facebook and Twitter can help further increase the awareness of your practice and can help you build better relationships with your existing patients.

Reviews

We have been stressing to many of our clients the importance of gaining Google reviews. We are all influenced by reviews both positive and negative when we decide to purchase something online, the same influence has been noticed when patients are choosing a dental practice to attend. Asking your patients, after they have had a positive experience, to leave a review can help flag to others searching for a dental practice in your area that they should use your services.
