Improving the quality of your content so that it’s informative, valuable and engaging for patients should be a key focus for all dental practices.
Here are some ways to keep your website content fresh and regularly updated.
Blog
- A blog is a great asset for your site, adding unique content, building links and picking up additional organic search traffic from Google.
- A blog should include informational-type keywords, for patients that are not ready to book an appointment but are searching for answers to a specific question or looking for general information. Your blog content can help them with their search queries and help them take that final step.
- For example, answering questions like “how much do dental implant cost”, “how long do implants last” and “how do implants work” gives patients all the information they need before booking a consultation.
FAQs
- Take a look at each of the services offered on your website and it’s almost certain that patients are asking questions about them that can be answered.
- You can find out the types of questions patients are searching for in the “people also ask” box on Google. For example, if you search for “Dental Implants”, you’ll see a list of questions in the accordions. Take the relevant ones, re-write them and add them to the specific treatment page on your site.
- You can also find a list of “question based keywords” on SEMrush and use/answer the ones with high search volumes.
Checklists/Lists
- Create checklists that can be easily followed and help patients solve a problem. For example: “10 ways to look after your oral health”.
- This allows you to boost the word count on pages in a useful way and increase the amount of information available on your site.
Guides
- Guides are a great resource to give patients in-depth information about topics they’re interested and curious about.
- Think about what some of the most common questions and concerns are that your practice deals with. Turn these concerns into a full guide that deals with this. For example: “The Complete Guide To Protecting Your Implants”.
Research
- You could run a survey asking patients a number of questions about their oral health, smile goals etc. and then use your findings to write additional blogs. For example: “How often do you brush your teeth”, “Would you ever consider cosmetic dental treatment?” etc.
Infographics
- Infographics are a great way to present complex information quickly and clearly. For example: “The visual Guide On How Implants Work”.
