By now we hope that most of our clients understand the importance of Google reviews – it is one of the main topics in our account management calls.
You must be getting tired of us continuously asking you to gain reviews because it helps your reputation, your business listing’s rankings and your visibility. Now, it is even more important – no really it is!
As you might be aware, Google constantly test and change many aspects of its algorithms and how it displays results.
Over the years, Google have been playing around with how it should present its local snack pack results (its integrated business listings).
We’ve seen all sorts of tests. But, one change they decided to stick with – which caused a few headaches for SEOs and businesses – was the reduction in the number of businesses they wanted to display in their search results.
Now Google seem to be doing another test and Peter Meyers from Moz spotted it.
It would seem that Google are testing adding a snippet of a review to a business’ listing, and people believe that the review they chose to display is completely random.
Whilst it might help with Google’s user experience and help with a person’s decision-making, it might also worry businesses if they have a few negative reviews.
It may only be a test at the moment, seeing as nobody can replicate it, but businesses need to take action now by garnering more positive reviews.
Who knows if Google will integrate this feature in the future!
