Why use a hashtag?
Hashtags make it easier to find and follow discussions about people, topics, events, locations, promotions and more.
Hashtags up the odds for you or your business being discovered.
Do’s
Pair your hashtags with images – Images with hashtags boost views and promote additional engagement
Group your hashtags at the end – to make your post easier to read group all your hashtags at the end
Use trending hashtags that compliment your content – If they connect to what you’re sharing it can be an easy way to gain followers
Run hashtag connected campaigns/contests – You can even setup notifications for every time someone uses the tag
Explore hashtags first – Hashtags with no or few related tags may not be as popular or useful
Dont’s
Try to replace quality posts with hashtags – Hashtags are meant to add to your post, not be your content
#Dont #Hashtag #Every #Word or #Makealongphrasehardtoread – If you have a hard time reading your post, so will everyone else
Abuse trending hashtags – Just because it is the #1 trending tag on Twitter doesn’t mean you should use it
Use hashtags used by others on personal campaigns/contests – Originality is key to making your campaign/contest run smoothly
Use incorrect hashtags – If you are planning to reference another person or topic being discussed, don’t guess what hashtag is being used
Tweets with 1 or 2 hashtags have 21% higher engagement than those with 3 or more hashtags
Instagram is the opposite of Twitter and shows posts with 11 or more hashtags have the highest interactions
Facebook posts without hashtags outperform those with hashtags
