One of the main objectives of the technical team here at Dental Design is to get our clients to rank as high as possible in the search engines for keywords they are targeting. However despite the fact that we have over 3500 first page positions for client websites, this doesn’t necessarily mean that they are all receiving as many appointment requests as they should. Unfortunately good rankings doesn’t automatically equal high conversions!
So what is the best tip I can offer to increase your conversion rate if your website already has good rankings…?
Redesign your site!
If your site is more than a couple of years old you may already be noticing that it is looking tired and dated, and if you can see that, potential new patients certainly can as well.
A website redesign can increase conversions by sorting the issues listed below.
1. Improve site performance
An outdated CMS can cause many technical issues with your website. Your website may use old, bloated code that slows down your site speed. Page speed is now one of the most important ranking factors https://developer.chrome.com/blog/search-ads-speed/ A new website, optimised to pass Google’s Core Vitals (designed to enhance a website for the user experience) will rank better, and generate more traffic.
2. Have prominent contact details
It is vitally important that your Practice’s contact number and address is prominent. It is also very useful to have a contact form built into every page. On the mobile version of your website, we would recommend a sticky ‘contact’ navigation in the footer which would include a button to message and to call.
3. Quality content
The usability of a website and how it looks will go a long way to increasing your website conversions and reducing bounce rate – but the website content is also vitally important. Content is now one of the most important ranking factors. Quality content will improve your rankings, traffic and conversion rate. How does Google determine quality content? There are a number of different factors listed below:
If you are looking to increase your implant enquiries for example, we would recommend setting up the page with information about the treatment, unique selling points, a ‘why choose us’ section, information about what to expect during your appointments, FAQs, before and afters, and dental implant specific reviews as well.
4. Good call to action
Call to action will also improve new patient numbers – you want to ‘encourage’ visitors to perform a desired action, whether to call the practice, complete an appointment form or sign up to your monthly newsletter. This can be done by including phrases such as ‘Accepting new patients’ ‘Contact us today’ and ‘Book online now’ in your copy.
Offers and USPs are also extremely important. Marketing for dentists is getting more and more competitive, and in 2023, if you want to attract new patients, you need to sell yourself. Have a look at what special offers your competition are advertising, can you beat them? Think about your unique selling points, do you offer free parking, weekend or evening appointments? 0% finance? If so, make them prominent, not only on a special offers page, but the treatment pages themselves.
