According to a report from comscore, for the first time, photo sharing site instagram has beaten the amount of visitors from mobile devices received by twitter. On average, instagram received 7.3 million daily visitors whilst twitter received 6.9 million. In addition, users tended to spend more time on instagram in comparison to twitter on their mobiles.
These figures are fantastic news for Instagram’s recent buyer Facebook who now have the challenging task of how to monetise the service.
On the other hand, despite these great figures they are only representative of mobile users with twitter still having a larger web market share.
