Joseph Glen Pruitt, 25, of Sheffield, Ala., was a living at the same residence with Lawrence Tarbert, 31, and his wife, Jessica Tarbert, 29, for several months prior to his 2011 death.

During Jessica's sentencing hearing, Ceballes said Jessica had meet Pruitt at First Street and Florida Avenue then invited Pruitt to stay at the Tarbert's home because Pruitt was homeless and living on the streets of Alamogordo.

Pruitt had been living at the Tarbert's home for a few months prior to his death.
