Many digital marketers will downplay direct marketing. In my opinion, I’ve never been able to see why. Sure direct marketing doesn’t have as much pretty analytics in the form of graphs and percentages, but what it does have are, results. Ironically, these results transform all of the pretty graphs and percentages indirectly; with the most important graph being the business’ bottom line.
So why do digital marketers downplay direct marketing?
Digital marketing is a much broader topic, with numerous social media platforms, paid advertising opportunities, influencer marketing, SEO and even television advertising. Because of how broad the topic is, it brings in much more than direct marketing; in addition, digital marketing tends to convert higher as well. Meaning it’s really valuable.
