Many of us get hundreds of emails a month being delivered into our inbox, and most of them are not even opened.
But how can you make sure that your emails are being opened?
Personalise Your Emails
Open rate is an important metric to measure in order to understand the success of your email campaign. But what can you do to make your open rate as high as possible?
Firstly, make sure the from address that appears in your recipient’s inbox is displaying something they will likely recognise like the practice name.
Secondly, try to make sure that any emails you send are using the recipient’s name and not something generic like “patient” or “subscriber” etc.
Catchy Subject Lines
Open rates are also likely to be affected by how catchy your subject line is.
As mentioned above, many of us receive hundreds of emails a month and we simply ignore a vast number of them. But if the subject line is attractive enough it might persuade us to click on the email to see what it is all about.
Using words like “amazing” or “incredible” in the subject line tells the user that the content within the email is highly valuable. You could even play on the natural curiosity we have by asking a compelling question in the subject line.
The key to email marketing is experimenting with different aspects of email campaigns and finding out what changes improve their success.
