Google+ tends to be one of those networks that is set up because you think that eventually it will be good for your website’s seo, however it quickly gathers dust due to the favouritism shown towards Facebook and twitter.
Log back in to Google+ and see the potential it has for your dental practice with these top tips!
1) Links!
Anyone who knows anything about seo knows that link building is key and Google+ lets you do this rather nicely. In the about us page, it allows you to not only to place a followed link to your website; you can also use anchor text to link to the inner pages of your website in your bio, which gives you valuable link juice and it’s great for potential customers to be directed to specific treatment pages you’d like to promote.
2) Social Search
If you often post relevant content on google+ you are more likely to rank highly if your customer is logged in to Google, this is due to Google’s social search algorithm, which provides personalised search results for the user.
3) Set Up Google Authorship
If you have a blog on your practice website, set up authorship so that google ‘trusts’ you as a source of quality content. This will allow your photo to appear next to your blog posts which increases awareness of your google+ page, adds a human element to your content, helps your content to stand out and will increase the chances of showing up in results, all of which should improve your click through rate.
To do this all you need to do is add a link to your google+ profile from your blog with “rel=author” at the end of the link to your google+ page. Then link back to your blog post from your google+ profile in the ‘contributor to’ section.
Google+ is growing by the day so it’s important if your an advocate of social media and SEO to make sure that this platform isn’t put on the back burner, otherwise your competitors could gain advantage!
