You have decided to use social media to help improve the exposure of your practice online, but it can be tempting to just use these platforms to promote offers and treatments to patients. Whilst it is important to use social media to showcase the treatments and offers you have, often what is missing is the use of these platforms to build stronger relationships with your patients. Engaging with your patients is key to success on social media and the tips below will help make your practice appear more human, something your patients will appreciate.
Use humour
Who doesn’t like to engage and share something funny on social media? Humour appeals to everyone and will help kick start the engagement on your page.
Use simple everyday language
I know it can be tempting to use dental terms and technical words on social media but your patients may not understand them. Keep your posts easy to read and entertaining and people will most likely read them and engage with them.
Interact with posts on your page
If a patient has posted on your page or commented on one of your posts, be quick to interact with them as this will show that you appreciate them. These small acts will go a long way toward building rapport with your practice.
If the practice has made a mistake and a patient has posted a comment on your page make sure to reply to the comment as soon as possible, offering to look in more detail into the problem, not only will this help the patient acknowledge that you care but it will help build back their trust with you. It also demonstrates to other patients and potential patients that you value them.
Add a name to your posts
Adding a name to the end of your posts helps give them that added human touch making them appear more personal.
