Are you currently using a Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo or ISP (internet service providers) email address to contact your patients?
The email address you use can say a lot more about your practice than you think!
The following might convince you to switch to using email addresses associated with your domain:
Look More Professional
A study by Visible Logic found that 90% of people considered [email protected] as being the “most professional” type of email address. The second highest “most professional” was Gmail at less than 3%.
Professionalism and credibility go hand in hand and it is likely that your patients might consider your email address when deciding to trust in your practice. If you were to put yourself in their shoes would you feel that practice A with an email address like [email protected] was more trust worthy than practice B which had [email protected]?
Build Your Brand and Be Remembered
Every email you send to your patients and potential patients from a email address associated with your domain reinforces your brand.
Each time a patient gets an email from you they will be able to go to your website as the web address forms part of the email address.
Keep The Email Address
If you have an email address associated with your ISP (internet service provider) such as [email protected], in many circumstances if you decide to change internet service providers you will lose your email address.
However, if you were to have an email address associated with your domain, so long as you keep the domain you will be able to still use the email address associated with it even if you switch hosting providers.
Create specific email addresses
When creating a free email account through Hotmail, Gmail etc you will most likely have to create an account with a variety of numbers as the one you want has already been taken. This is not the case when dealing with your own domain. Having the ability to create specific email addresses on your own domain also allows you to create accounts such as appointments@, enquiries@ etc which not only help patients understand who they are dealing with at the practice but it can also help you organise the emails you receive at the practice.
Best of all through us it’s FREE! – If you have an ongoing management package or hosting package with us and your emails aren’t hosted elsewhere, in most circumstances we can set them up for you.
If you’re worried that patients might email you on the old email account that you had with Hotmail, Gmail etc there might be the option to have those emails forwarding to the new professional email address.
