4 Ways To Refresh Your Website Content

14th May 2019 | | Search Engine Optimisation

Keeping your website content fresh and regularly updated should be a major focus for all dental practices. The freshness of your website’s content is an important ranking factor. With more and more data and content being produced, Google promotes the most recent content and newest websites to produce the best quality results for searchers.

Here are 4 ways to keep your website and content fresh:

Add new content

Content is one of the most important ranking factors and it should be regularly reviewed and updated. Here are some ways to create new content regularly:

  • Create a blog and write regular posts about dental news and what is going on at the practice.
  • Update your site with new staff members, treatments, images and special offers as frequently as you can.
  • Regularly review the website’s treatment pages and add in extra information and any changes to treatment methods is also a good method of updating the site. This also keeps the information current and shows you are at the forefront of the dental industry.

Improve the content you already have

Review the content you have on the site regularly. Think about the following when reviewing the content:

  • Is the main topic clear and are you answering patient’s questions?
  • How well written is the content? Make sure it is easily readable
  • Which keywords is the page optimised for? Make sure the content focuses on one keyword and their related terms.
  • Make sure the pages aren’t over optimised with keywords – keyword stuffing can damage your site and needs to be avoided. Rewrite any content that is obviously over optimised to include the keywords and related terms naturally.

Update stock imagery

Replace stock imagery with images of the practice and team. This also brings new life to websites and shows off your practice to potential patients.

Combine related content

Review the site and make a note of which pages are speaking about the same subject. If you find pages are targeting the same subject and keyword, combine them into one page. This will not only refresh the site’s content, but will also have a positive effect for SEO. If your site has multiple pages that are targeting the same subject, Google will not know which to rank diluting the content’s effectiveness. It is better to have one page that covers all bases than splitting subject areas into multiple pages.
