Google have upgraded their adwords pay per click advertising platform to offer two categories of campaign, legacy and enhanced. Over the coming months, all campaigns will move over to the new enhanced campaign, that promises new features which include: multi device ad targeting, advanced reporting and optimised ads based on user context..
A further addition to adwords enhanced campaigns is social media integration. If you have a verified Google+ business page, which is linked with the same URL as the one displayed in your advertisement, in addition to over 100 followers, Google adwords will automatically show Google+ data alongside your ad, here is an example from Red Bull below:
Google suggest, that an ad which displays the amount of Google+ followers the business has, will have a 5-10% higher click through rate than if this information wasn’t displayed as would be the case with the legacy campaigns.
