Every lead counts – Squeezing every last drop out of your marketing

You may have noticed that things are getting more expensive. In fact, if you haven’t noticed then I can only assume that you’ve been living under an inflation-proof rock! Higher prices often result in more belt buckling, more scrimping, and more agonising over purchases. None of these are particularly good scenarios for a private dental practice looking to maximise their income. So how can you make certain that you are getting the absolute most out of every possible opportunity that comes your way? In a word (well, two), lead management.

 

The average practice will receive between 30 and 50 new enquiries a month and it is imperative that each and every one of them is comprehensively recorded, tracked, and engaged with. Each one is a potential new lifetime patient that is worth tens of thousands of pounds to your business, and the first couple of interactions that you have with this prospective patient are crucial. If the limit of your interactivity is a single reactive response to a phone call or contact form, then quite simply you are letting money fall through your fingers.

 

One of the questions we frequently ask our clients is ‘what systems do you have in place to manage the leads that come into the practice?’. Up until recently the limit of our involvement was the point at which the patient contacted the practice. Our job was to design a website and market it through SEO, PPC, etc in order to generate that initial enquiry. Once they’d reached out to the practice, our work was done. However, in order to ensure that the value is being produced we need to continue to monitor that prospective patient’s journey. As such, we need to ensure that the practice itself has a robust system in place to ensure that each lead is being ‘worked’ and that no patients are slipping through the cracks.

 

To that end, we produced our EasyLeads management system which can track every call and every form that comes into the practice and efficiently allows your team to manage that lead. It allows contact dates to be recorded, notes to be added, and even a pound value attached to the treatment they are interested in. In a nutshell, it’s a comprehensive system that ensures every single lead is being utilised to its full potential.

 

In today’s economy, it’s a cardinal offence to not have your leads managed in such a way. Whether you choose to use our system or implement a different lead monitoring system, I cannot overstate the importance of doing so. There is no point engaging in marketing and filling up the top part of your funnel if the process falters at the final hurdle. So, take a few minutes to revise what you are doing with your leads, because it might just be the most valuable thing you do today.
