Google Ads to Feature Friend’s Reviews
Google has updated its terms of service meaning a Google account holder using its search engine could see results including the name, profile picture and online review from one of their Google contacts. This is important to note, especially in the dental industry, as we are all influenced by what others recommend. Asking your customers to post Google reviews will not only make your Google places listing look better but could influence more customers to go to your practice based on their friend’s reviews.
Google has been attempting for a while now to compete against other ad formats offered on Facebook and Twitter, and are attempting to convince advertisers that their ad formats have similar word-of-mouth effect as their competitors in the social sector.
Other developments include:
- The integration of the Google+ service into its core search proposition.
- The use of hash tags in its search engine (allowing users to see relevant Google+ posts appear on the right of the regular search results).
Matt Bush, Google’s head of agency, understood that the user interface of Google+ needed improvement. However, he also stated that the number of users on its social platform were rising sharply, and to expect results that will “blow your mind”.
In addition, he has stated “What brands can do with Google+ is help users find that information at that time, and achieving engagement. It’s about trying to be there during the moments that matter.”
There is no doubt that we will hear more about what Google and Google+ can offer us in the future and how the integration of its social platform will play an important role in online marketing especially for the dental industry.
