I think it’s a good move from Google as when people use specific searches in relation to a business it makes sense to provide as much information as possible to the user in as few steps as possible. Previously the information optimised in our client’s Google Places pages was a little hidden away, and while it was still important to optimise for ranking purposes the new changes give a better user experience. Now your Dental Practice’s places page information is actually highlighted on the search results page.
So what does this mean for local SEO moving forward? Claiming and optimising your Places page was important before because it helps with your rankings. Now, due to the changes, you can increase your click through rate and increase traffic to your site with a well optimised places page.
We offer Google Places optimisation as part of our Classic + and Premier web management practices. If you want any more information on this service please don’t hesitate to give us a call on 01202677277
