Google has now fully rolled out a mobile algorithm update, as announced by leading Google Webmaster analyst John Mueller. Google gave us a heads-up earlier in the year that they were preparing to boost the mobile-friendly algorithm in May and now these changes are fully operational.
The updated is supposed to “increase the effect of the mobile-friendly ranking signal.” So if you website is mobile optimised, you should see an increase in rankings in the mobile search results.
As a reminder, the Google mobile-friendly algorithm is a page-by-page signal, so it can take time for Google to assess each page, and that is why it took some time to roll out fully. So depending on how fast Google crawls and indexes all of the pages on your site, the impact can be slow to show up.
If you are not mobile-friendly, or if you want to ensure that you are, you can check the Google mobile-friendly tool, as well as Google’s mobile guidelines. It is never too late to benefit from this mobile-friendly algorithm, please call us on 01202 677 277 to see how we can help.
