Are you considering using social media as an additional online marketing strategy?
Do you know if your competitors already are?
Below are a few things to consider:
Should your practice be on social media?
If your competitors are already using social media then the answer is yes!
It is likely that your competitors are tapping into a customer base that you are missing out on and could potentially be engaging with your existing patients.
Even if your competitors aren’t currently on social media they are most likely considering it. Therefore it might be best to start using it now!
Which social networks should I use?
You will most likely be tempted to set up social media accounts on every network out there. However if you simply do not have the time to be posting regularly on these platforms then it might not be a good idea.
What platforms are your competitors using? You will most likely want to focus on setting up accounts wherever your competitors are regularly active. However, consider setting up an additional account on a platform that your competitors are less likely to be using but could be valuable as this could help you reach a group of patients that your competitors can’t.
Analyse the competition
Below are a few questions that will give you an understanding of your competition and might help you improve your social media presence and performance:
How many followers/fans do they have on each platform?
What are they posting about on each platform?
How many likes/comments/shares/retweets do they have per post?
How often do they post?
What hashtags do they use?
The answers to the questions above will give you an understanding of what might and might not be working for your competitors, and allow you to formulate a social media strategy that is likely to work for your practice.
