I know you are tired of us saying this but statistics in the UK are showing a decrease in desktop visits and an increase in mobile and tablet visits.
A report by Search Engine Watch shows that whilst the proportion of mobile visits (44.4%) is slightly less than desktop (55.6%) in the UK, the overall Worldwide mobile Internet usage has surpassed desktop usage for the first time recently and the UK’s mobile Internet usage is soon to follow this.
As a UK business, marketing yourself online, it would be wise to be proactive and make sure that your website is optimised for mobiles before mobile usage surpassed desktop usage. It is only a matter of time before mobile Internet usage, in the UK, overtakes desktop usage and this shift would likely cause your practice to miss out on enquiries and opportunities if you’re not prepared for it. In fact, if your website isn’t already optimised, your practice might already be missing out on enquiries.
There are also predictions that in 2017 mobile usage will continue to grow with 75% of Internet usage being carried out on mobiles.
This mobile usage trend hasn’t gone unnoticed, as Google have made a decision to focus more of its time and effort on perfecting its mobile index.
Whilst there are costs involved in making a website mobile friendly, optimising your website for mobiles would benefit your online presence and patient enquiry levels.
It is no longer something that you are able to think about doing at a later date. If you are not mobile friendly you will be left behind and your competition will be there to take those patient enquiries for you.
