Optimise Your Social Media Profiles

fb3It can be very beneficial for a dental practice to have a presence on social media platforms. It is important however to make sure that your profiles, on these platforms, are fully optimised so that you are taking advantage of the full benefits.

The following points can be used to help make sure that your profiles are fully optimised:

Cover Photos and Background Images

The first things a visitor sees when they arrive on your social media profile are your cover photo and background image. It is important to make sure that your brand logo is clearly visible and stands out, as this is ultimately what you want your patients to remember.

However, be aware that each social network will likely have a different image dimension.

Link to Other Social Media Profiles

Add links to your other social media profiles as your patients would probably want to see what you’re doing on other profiles. Facebook allows you to add Facebook apps that link or showcase other social profiles. However if you don’t use Facebook apps, your Facebook profile contact information allows you to put links to your other profiles there – which is highly recommended.

Add a Link to Your Main Website

When your patients visit your social media page they are most likely going to look at all the new content that you have recently put on there and then visit your own website. It is important therefore to make sure that your website’s URL is on your profile page as this will allow your patients to move to your site with ease.

Fill Out Every Profile Field

This will help improve the impression your patients have on your practice and can allow you to add information like your location and goals. It has been noticed however that some platforms add more fields for you to fill in so be sure to go back and fill in these as well.

Be Consistent with Your Descriptions on Other Platforms

Make sure you are consistent with your messages on other platforms. Your content doesn’t have to be identical but your messages shouldn’t be different on different platforms.
