With2014 the growth of social media marketing and particularly the time-consuming element of
day-to-day social media management, many dental practices are now looking to outsource the management of their social media accounts.

Once you have decided to outsource, it’s important to do some research to ensure that this is the right option for your practice; here are some of the key things to consider.

1. The Offering

From the beginning, it’s clear to define your objectives and why you think social media is right for both your social media marketing and your wider marketing strategy.

The first step is to ensure the provider is offering the services you require to meet those objectives.

For example, if one of your objectives is to humanise the practice, choosing a provider which only uses generic content may not be the right company for you.

2. Ability to meet in person

It’s important to be able to meet with the person who is running your social media campaign, in order to give them a real understanding of what your practice is like, in addition to being able to represent your values.

3. Responsiveness

Responsiveness is really talking about how quick the provider is to respond to you – your calls, emails and other communication. You will gain a feel for how responsive the provider is when you first enquire about their services.

It’s important to use a company who is responsive because if something important happens at the practice, for example your telephone lines are down; social media is the perfect way to communicate this to your patients quickly.

4. Pricing

Have a look around at the various price points and what is included for the money you spend and then choose one that fits into your budget. In terms of budget management, it’s easier to partner with a provider who offers fixed price packages. This means you’ll have a solid understanding of what you’re getting each month and you can easily manage the fixed price into your monthly budget.
