The value of Pinterest may have just escalated as brands can now feature their company using “Place Pins” – an interactive map for the places people want to visit.
Admittedly its been aimed initially at the hospitality industry for places to visit around the world, allowing users to pin photos to a map to plan and document their travels. This is however definitely one to watch for future marketing strategies. Exploring local marketing makes Pinterest a more attractive channel for local businesses.
Users can map out the locations they already share on their boards and search for new places on the map. Place Pins also include extra details like the address and phone number of a company right on the Pin so you can easily pull up useful information on the go and on your smartphone!
For example, If someone has had a successful trip to your practice, they may be able to add a picture and the practices location to their board. With these locations, users can better create pinboards for highlighting key spots and businesses to visit in the local area.
Linking great images on Pinterest to a map for patients to see can be a great way to engage and create their own positive experience. If you’re not already using Pinterest for your business, it might be the time to start.
