Are you struggling to work out how to use Pinterest for your dental practice?
Many regard Pinterest to be targeted towards middle-aged women who like arts and crafts, so you may be asking- what relevance does this network have to a dentist? Whilst to a large extent this may be true of Pinterest’s main demographic- aren’t these potential customers for your dental practice too?
Here are some ways to kick start your Pinterest presence:
1) Increase your brand authority
Pinterest allows you to create boards that provide useful and educational information, whilst still having boards that are just for fun. Use your boards to showcase your intellectual leadership and how you a are a big part of the local community.
Try and have a good mixture of your own uploaded content including photos, videos and created content in addition to sharing content from others. This will keep your audience engaged.
2) Expand your reach
Try out group boards; you can invite your patients to upload their smiles or dental related content for example. Don’t worry, you do have the option to moderate the boards and only those you invite are able to upload to them.
By adding ‘guest pinners’ in this way means that your guest’s followers will also see your board whereby they may not have before.
3) Drive traffic back to your site.
In the first instance you need to make sure that the content you share and create is desirable. The majority of so called desirable pins solve a problem, inspire, offer something or appeal to a hobby.
Make sure that you describe the pin fully and add a link back to your website. Whilst these links are no follow and therefore won’t help with your seo strategy- if it’s actually useful, the person will click on your link to find out more naturally thus increasing your traffic.
