The digital world is the fastest developing market out there. Where we are now, moving into 2018 is almost unrecognisable to where we were 10 years ago. With new hardware coming out every day making it easier and easier to find what you’re looking for online, it means we have to learn how to adapt to be found for these search queries. Below details the different types of search queries we will have to keep our eyes on!
- Video and Image search will improve – We have slowly but surely become more impatient, and there’s nothing wrong with that! With such fast-paced lives, of course, we want fast-paced technology, why wouldn’t we want to find what we’re looking for in a matter of seconds rather than minutes? We are more attracted to looking at images and videos rather than to stop and read through what we are trying to learn/find. Did you know, people only remember 10% of what they read but 50% of what they see and hear?
- Optimise your knowledge graph – Google’s knowledge graphs are a great way to get a quick answer that you’re looking as well as related answers, quickly and without having to click through and wait for further loading. So as a business, if you need to be found for something, especially a research term, make sure your Schema markup is on point, as well as your business listing.

- Voice Search will spike – With the growing sale of smart speakers, there has as a result been a sharp increase in voice searches. Just like with SEO, voice search is another important concept to adhere to. If you’re a business that relies heavily on being found when searched for (as most businesses are) then voice search is a market with a lot of growth potential, worth keeping an eye on.
