Hot off the heels of Google+ last month, Twitter announced yesterday that they will also be launching brand pages as part of the major overhaul of their site.
Currently, brand pages are only available to 21 major marketers. These include: Disney, Paramount, General Electric, Pepsi, Kia, Intel and HP. However, in twitter’s advertising blog they have confirmed that brand pages will be slowly rolled out in the coming months.
These pages allow companies to change the brand page to the brand’s exact colourings, have a larger header image, add photographs and have a promoted tweet at the top of the page, so that the first thing user’s see is something favourable; the brand can then choose for the tweet to remain there for as long as they like.
Is this something you’re dental practice would be interested in once it’s rolled out to smaller businesses? If so this is something we’ll be able to help you set up.
Do you think it will have the same success as Facebook business pages? Or do you think that twitter are just ‘following the crowd’ rather than being the innovators they were once known to be?
Do you simply think it’s all too much looking after Facebook, twitter and Google+? If so, would you prefer to just have a ‘one stop shop’ for social media?
Personally I like different aspects of all of the ‘major’ social media sites, so I’m really excited to see what twitter produce with their new brand pages. However, life would definitely be a lot easier and time-efficient if all of our social media endeavours could happen on one site!
