Our company has grown rapidly over the last 14 years and within the last year we have invested in a number of new team members to expand the business in order to dedicate more time to each of our clients. It’s therefore important that our team works effectively together, communication and the bonding experience among employees is vital to the success of our work.
Teamwork in the workplace offers the company and staff the ability to become more familiar with each other and learn how to work together. It’s used across many different industries to increase performance, employee unity and company culture. Here at Dental Design we use teamwork to bounce ideas off of one another before deciding on the correct route for a task or project.
Great Communication is Key
Teamwork is the backbone of effective communication within a company. When employees work independently on projects, they may not willingly share knowledge or new information. This lack of communication increases the time it takes to complete tasks. Teamwork initiates conversation between employees about the task at hand, possibly preventing employees from wasting time going in the wrong direction. For example, if one employee does not communicate that a method does not work, and another employee is still trying to use that method, productivity is low. Teams in the workplace often meet to discuss how to solve particular issues. When a team works well together, it allows staff members to feel more comfortable in offering these suggestions. We have monthly meetings in the office to discuss the ongoing changes in the industry, this allows us to understand areas to be worked on moving forward. The ability to work effectively as a team is what makes the difference between projects that succeed and projects that don’t.
A team that works well together understands the strengths and weaknesses of each team member. One of the benefits of strong teamwork is that team leaders are capable at dividing up tasks so they are done by the most skilled people. This allows the company to take on more work and generate more revenue. Break down projects into task lists and assign them to one or more people, set start & due dates and comment on tasks to monitor progress to be able to keep on top of several projects happening at the same time. We know that delivering a project on time is extremely important for our clients.
There are challenges each day in any workplace and a strong team environment can act as a support mechanism for staff members. Team members can help each other improve their performance and work together to improve their professional development. Team members also come to rely on and trust each other. These bonds can be important when the team faces particular challenges.
It all comes down to the results that we produce. The highs of a project are more motivating when working as a team. Celebrating an achievement with teammates is a great way to boost morale. It makes work so much better having a close bond with your colleagues, people who feel more like a family. The workplace is said to be where we make the most friends because we spend so much time there.
