Whilst it’s great to see so many dentists getting on board with social media – most notably Facebook and Twitter – I am still stumbling across personal Facebook accounts being used as business pages. This is a big ‘no no’ and before long, Facebook will delete these and you will be left with nothing, and having to build up your ‘likes’ again from scratch.
There is a very simple way to convert your personal account to a business page – and EVERYONE that is still using a personal page (you will have ‘friends’ rather than ‘likes’) needs to do this.
There are some easy-to-follow instructions on the Facebook website – I’ll include them in this blog also – but if you get stuck, give us a call here at Dental Design on 01202 677 277 and we’ll be happy to help. (Don’t forget we can also design your Facebook / Twitter / Google + pages, etc for a more professional feel).
Why should I convert my personal account to a Facebook Page?
Since personal accounts are meant for individual people, they aren’t suited to meet your business needs. Pages offer more robust features for organizations, businesses, brands and public figures. Learn more about Facebook Pages.
Maintaining a personal account for anything other than an individual person is a violation of Facebook’s Statement of Rights and Responsibilities. If you don’t convert your noncompliant account to a Page, you risk permanently losing access to the account and all of its content.
