Did you know that your dental practice could have a Facebook page- even if you’ve never signed up to the social network before?
Facebook has created auto-generated pages relating to local businesses, which allow Facebook users to ‘like’, ‘check in’, ‘review’ and ‘comment’. Which is great, as it’s another way for the public to interact and share information about your business.
However, this is all well and good, but what happens if someone posts a negative comment about your business and you are not in control of it? It’s very important to be able to monitor and be aware of what the public are writing about your brand on the internet.
Here’s some advice if you do find a Facebook auto-generated page about your business:
Search for your practice name in the search bar and click the ‘Is this your business?’ link on the top right of the page. This will ensure that no one else can claim your business page without going through the transfer of ownership process, protecting your brand.
Whilst some practices may be unhappy that Facebook have automatically made a page about them, embrace it and use it as a positive. After all, Facebook is just online word of mouth to help promote your practice to the local community. If you do have any reviews or comments about your practice already, reply to them in a friendly, professional manner.
Make sure that your Facebook page is ‘on brand’ with your website and other marketing, by creating an attractive cover photo and profile picture.
It’s important to update your Facebook page on a regular basis- there’s nothing worse than landing on a page which hasn’t been updated for six months!
