Facebook is continuing its commitment to search within its social media platform. Facebook has therefore announced that they are updating search to make it easier to find the posts that have been shared with you in the past.
So now, with a quick search, you can get back to a fun video, a news article you’ve been meaning to read, or photos. Facebook’s search results are personalised and unique to you, so that you can only see things that have been shared with you.
The updates have been made to be particularly relevant to mobile and tablet users, but it will also be available on the desktop version of Facebook.
So what does this mean for your dental practice? Facebook posts will no longer ‘decay’ into the timeline after a couple of days; users can now look back on older posts. This makes posting interesting and entertaining content more important than ever before to extend the content’s ‘lifespan’.
To make the most of Facebook’s new search feature, try to keep your posts light and entertaining with funny dental related photos or videos, which your followers will be happy to see again and again. Or take photos within the practice at staff training events etc- everyone likes to know what goes on ‘behind closed doors’.
