Lately, Google has made the decision to put more emphasis into the Google My Business service. They appear to be adding more and more features and making their other services more accessible from the console, such as analytics.
What will this mean for businesses though?
It means that businesses now can have multiple, useful advertising services all from the same login. I personally am really excited that Google has added their ‘Website’ feature in the My Business console. With a bit of further development from Google, I can just imagine a world where all of your business services are located under the one business console. From live chat from customers, reviews posted straight onto your website to appear on the Google page, an image gallery that syncs with your Google Plus Profile and opening times that update on your website when changed on the profile. One big connected Google Business profile.
This single platform incorporating all of these features would mean for easier capture of Analytics, allowing for measurable conversions on your organic listing with a lot less work on the development front. This is great news for those starting up small businesses that have little or no experience in how to build a website or even how to set up analytics properly. Unfortunately, this may mean that Google can take a large piece of the website design market, potentially making other website builders less desirable. Let’s face it, how could they compete with a website building service incorporated immediately with all of Google’s services? And, although Google would never admit it, SEO analysts will keep a very close eye on any favouritism that Google may show to their own Google built websites.
All in all, it seems that there is some exciting work in the pipeline for Google My Business and it would be worth getting your business profile in shape, so you’re ready if the console becomes oh incredibly high importance. Although, it’s already very important.
