Google Releases New API
Specifically for “Google My Business” Local Listing, The search engine giant has released an API for developers to create and edit locations in Google My Business.
Some of the Features Included are:
- Managing Special Hours – such as Christmas Opening Hours
- Mark a Business Location as permanently closed – great for practices who are relocating
- Manage Business Photos
- List, invite and remove manager on locations and business accounts – useful for managing a dental business with multiple locations and users of Google accounts
- Read listing state to identify Google updated, duplicate and suspended locations – a huge help for us lowly account managers trying to streamline a dental practices online marketing and keep things up-to-date and accurate
- Search/Filter locations by name, category and label.
- Set the service area for a business by specifying a point and radius or place ID’s
This API is typically aimed at larger businesses that need to manage many locations and have special holiday hours. It may also be used by marketing agencies looking to manage their clients – i.e Dental Design!
Our in-house developer will be getting his hands all over this and using it for our accounts. It’ll be used for our dental websites along with our SEO management which includes the management of the practices Local Listing.
