Google Webmaster Update
Google has recently announced through it’s Webmaster Central Blog, that sites which block JavaScript and CSS will directly affect how their algorithms render the index the content of the website resulting in possibly suboptimal rankings.
There may only be very unusual circumstances where a website owner or webmaster would block the JavaScript and CSS, but it’s worth checking your site doesn’t if you care about your websites rankings.
Google explicitly advises that all image files, JavaScript and CSS files are accessibly by its Googlebot, sating that..
“This provides you optimal rendering and indexing for your site. Disallowing crawling of JavaScript or CSS files in your site’s robots.txt directly harms how well our algorithms render and index your content and can result in suboptimal rankings.”
