At Dental Design we always encourage our clients to write blogs, not only are they a great resource for their patients, they’re great for seo too. This because, they add regular fresh content to the site, which Google notably love and reward with good rankings in the search engine result pages.
Although, despite people finding it easy to write great blogs in the beginning, it’s common to begin to run out of ideas and therefore develop writers block a few months down the line. So here are some tips and tricks if you are beginning to find it difficult to write new content for your blog pages.
1) Be a resourceful
Patients are unlikely to read your blogs if they do not feel you are an authority on the subject you are writing about. Make sure you that are their number one resource for dental queries by writing in a way that is educational, yet understandable by your patients- avoid jargon!
2) Answer questions!
As a dentist, you’re likely to be asked the same thing by patients time and time again. Instead of answering everyone individually, why don’t you raise the question in your blog and answer it there? This way, not only can you advise whilst patients are in the chair, patients can also go back and see in writing the answer to their questions in case they forget or are still unsure of the original answer they received.
3) Find the questions your patients are asking.
Make use of social media and use sites such as LinkedIn Answers or Quora. They’re fantastic resources with lots of questions others may have tried to answer. You can either comment on them directly (raising your profile across the web), or by asking the question on your own blog and answering for the benefit of your patients.
To conclude, if you would like to attract a loyal audience to your blog, you need to create regular content which is useful to the reader. You can do this by being helpful, answering regular patient questions and by finding questions online that others are asking.
