Google has been busy lately! With some great changes to their business listing on top of their new Adwords interface shows that Google are very much about improvement and staying with the times.
Google has lately released their new Adwords interface across more and more accounts, if yours hasn’t been affected, it soon will! Fortunately, for those that want to continue using the interface they are more familiar with, Google is offering the option to switch back. Although, I can’t imagine this option will be around forever, so I would continue to use the new interface so you can get used to where things are.
For a lot of Google Adwords users, the new update hasn’t been taken well, the old interface was more than 15 years old with some touch ups here and there (last one being in 2008). Allowing users to become very familiar on how to access the data they wanted to see. The new interface has moved all the relevant data tabs around, meaning that users will have to relearn where everything is in order to navigate the interface fluently.
The interface is much more modern looking, and won’t take too long to get used to. Admittedly the change has made me a bit slower at navigating the console, but having spent a couple of hours on it I am able to navigate with much more ease to quickly find the information that I’m looking for. There have been temptations to switch back to the old interface that I can navigate with my eyes shut, but I am aware this platform will be made redundant soon, and when it does, I will want to be able to navigate the new interface with ease.
In addition to the new interface, Google has also added 7 new features, exclusive to the new AdWords version. Promotion Extensions, Household income targeting, Audience Pages, Landing Page performance, custom in-market audiences, Google attribution and Store Sales Measurement Uploads. Giving 7 more reasons to learn the new interface!
