Team Building is definitely a crucial element to any business! One of the most important reasons for team building is to get results. Through a series of team bonding events that are fun and motivational, teams build skills like communication, planning, problem-solving and conflict resolution.
Socialising and making friends in the workplace is one of the best ways to increase productivity in the office. Not only does it increase morale, it also allows for the office to work better at solving everyday workplace issues. Even more so when teamwork is required on a daily basis to achieve a client’s objective.
Your employees can therefore learn how to communicate more effectively with each other. Effective team building means more engaged employees, which is good for company culture. The most successful, memorable team-building events are ones that don’t feel like a day at the office. Spending time together, sharing an experience or working towards a common goal allows bonding to happen more organically and far more effectively.
Some benefits include:
1. Improving communication
2. Making the workplace more enjoyable
3. Motivating a team
4. Getting to know each other
5. Getting everyone “onto the same page”, including goal setting
6. Helping participants to learn more about themselves (strengths & weaknesses)
7. Identifying and utilizing the strengths of team members
8. Improving team productivity
Team Building also encourages the improvement of Interpersonal Skills such as: communication, negotiation, leadership, & motivation.
With this is mind, Dental Design had a weekend of Team building activities! The whole team had a fantastic time on Sandbanks beach last Friday (15th July) for our annual “summer day out”! We took part in paddle boarding and fly boarding followed by a BBQ at the Sandbanks Hotel. On Sunday (17th July), a team took part in the annual Splash In The Park for Julia’s House children’s hospice, taking on water-based challenges against 11 other teams! We had a fantastic day, where we got extremely competitive and came 4th overall, as well as being able to help such a worthy cause – The whole event raised over £10,000 for Julia’s House!
