Search engine optimisation is a long term, ongoing strategy which is vital for the health of your online marketing strategy. Many dentists when they decide to create a new website don’t quite understand what SEO is and why they even need it, so here are a few reasons to help educate and change your mind.

The four main benefits of a good SEO strategy include:

  • An increase in sales
  • Reduced costs (saved from other marketing channels)
  • Improved resource efficiency
  • Synergy

Search engine optimisation starts with keyword research, this includes: practice location, main products/services offered and the psychographics of your target clientele.  By having this information we can direct potential and current patients directly to the most relevant content on your website.

When reviewing the pages on the website it is important to bear in mind these three things:

  • What are visitors arriving at this page looking for?
  • What problem are they facing and can we help them?
  • How can we deliver an experience better than everywhere else?

As an SEO it is important to treat every page on the site as a landing page, as your homepage may not necessarily be the page that ranks highest in Google.  This is why monthly account management updates are so important to ensure that any amendments needed are brought to attention, to make sure every page is as good as every other.

Although we are a fully transparent service in that we regularly inform you of your statistics and rankings, it is important not to get too bogged down by numbers. Seo is less about clicks and more about quantifiable sales, there’s no point in having a number 1 ranking in google with hundreds of hits if you don’t fully understand your target audience and provide the information they need in order to convert them into new patients.

This therefore means that your website and coinciding seo strategy  should be treated like a precious and valued salesperson, after all it works as a sales tool 24/7 and apart from physically visiting the practice what else do you have to set your practice apart from the rest?
