Anyone wanting to make the most out of their online marketing needs to consider email marketing in their strategy. But with users receiving large amounts of emails from multiple companies how do you succeed?
Subject Lines
One of the first things a user is going to see is the subject of the email. With 35% of email recipients deciding to open an email based on the subject alone, this is something that you will need to perfect.
You will need to make the subject line concise, and avoid spammy words like “free”, “x% off” as much as you can. Using spammy words on a regular basis can negatively affect you campaign, and many email services will be sending your emails to the spam or junk folders.
Segment Your Email List
Patients with a healthy mouth are most likely not interested in the dental implant offer you have at your practice.
Segmenting your email list into certain categories based on a patient’s interests, dental health, age etc will help to improve the click through rate (CTR) of your email campaigns.
Split Testing
There are many elements that play a role in your email campaign’s success. The time you send the email, subject line, body text, call to action etc will all likely have an affect on the CTR and the number of conversions.
Try testing different variations of the email you send out by splitting your email list and sending the initial version to one half of your list, and the other version to the second half. If you do not see an improvement, try changing other elements to see what is most effective.
Responsive Design
Making sure that the email you send out is also optimised for mobile devices is crucial – since 51% of all emails are opened on a mobile device.
