Here are some simple ways you can grow your Instagram following:
1. Put your handle on your marketing materials:
Make your “handle” highly visible on your marketing materials. The chances of someone thinking about you having an Instagram account and searching for you are lower than if you are to expose yourself for your patients to see.
2. Like and Comment on photos in your niche:
Try to be engaging on other people’s accounts by posting comments. This helps to get your practice name out there and allows other users to discover you. Obviously, “liking” pictures is nice, but when you comment, your name and handle get more exposure than does a like.
3. Create a hashtag and encourage patients to use it too:
This is a great way to build community and gain new content for your account. Create a unique hashtag (make sure it’s not already being used) and ask others to use it. Once people start using your hashtag, then you can re-post images from your followers. Not only does this build up your social media community by showing your followers that you appreciate their photos, but it also gives you content for your own account.
4. Tag a friend:
Host an Instagram giveaway that requires your followers to tag a friend in the comments. Therefore, your audience will bring you new followers who may not have heard of you yet.
5. Geo-tag your photos:
Have you recently had a team day out from the practice? Geo-tag it! That way, other people who used the same geo-tag can see your photo and potentially follow you as you have something in common.
6. Give patients a reason to follow you:
People are more likely to do something if you ask them to do it. However, instead of saying, “Follow us on Instagram,” give people a reason. Incentivize them with the content you provide rather than just telling them to follow you.
7: Link your Instagram account to your other networks:
This will help your followers on other networks discover your Instagram account!
