In light of the recent announcement from Google regarding HTTPS website encryption, we are in the process of adopting HTTPS encryption for all of our clients’ websites.
What does this mean?
You may have noticed the ‘secure’ symbol when visiting other websites. This symbol will soon be displayed when people visit your website.
Failure to adopt HTTPS encryption will result in a ‘not secure’ notification being displayed on most browsers; ‘warning messages’ will pop up on pages containing contact forms (which will likely cause a decrease in patient enquiries) and crucially, you’re almost certain to drop down the google listing.
So why SSL?
• Google is championing it
• More secure for your patients
• An official ranking signal
• Google Chrome and Firefox (making 75% of website traffic) will be showing ‘not secure’ warnings on pages using contact forms (this could potentially put patients off)
