A call to action is a way for you to entice your social media audience to focus their attention on the next action you want them to take. Creating calls to action for Social Media that actually convert is extremely important.
1. Determine what you want patients to do
2. Create a great call to action
3. Motivate patients to take action
4. Optimise your call to action
5. Text your call to action to maximise results
6. Measure results in order to move forward
Examples:
What do patients get for doing what you ask them to do with your call to action? If they believe that clicking will lead them to something more interesting and exciting then they may well click.
“Learn More”
This should be used to:
Drive traffic to your website
Share content to enhance credibility and branding
Share a relevant article to educate your patients
Share photos, videos and other multimedia content
Remember you are asking for an action. As much as you might want to share information with your readers, that’s not the purpose of a call to action. Ask people to share your content.
“Share”
This should be used to:
Reach new audiences
Get the attention of the like-minded people of your existing patients
Raise awareness around an issue or campaign
Anything that makes your users think that there is a limited amount of time to complete the action will make the CTA more effective. Ask patients to tell you what they think, whether there is an incentive to encourage this.
“Tell us what you think”
This should be used to:
Show your patients their opinions are valuable to you
Engage in thought provoking conversation
Gather user-generated content
“Take Action”
This should be used to:
Indicate that your patients are ready to make a purchase or take an action
