When Google announced Google+ the office got very excited about the prospect of a new social network and how it could be used to help, not only Dental Design, but our client’s marketing efforts too.
Since then, a lot of pages have become redundant, however google is trying to tackle this with a new advertising campaign.
So how do you make sure that your Google+ page remains as active as your Facebook and Twitter? Here are our 5 top tips:
1) Check your notifications and respond
This sounds pretty obvious to check any notifications you have. However, do you actually respond? If someone shares your post, someone mentions you or adds you to a circle say thank you! Not only will it make the recipients day, but it increases your reach as they are more likely to share your posts etc in future over others.
2) Search for your brand name/ keywords
Interact with your community by searching for your keywords and responding to relevant posts. This way your name gets out there more than it would have before and you can show that you are the industry expert.
3) Check Ripples for your latest content
It may show on your Google+ that your post has had 3 shares for example, but by checking ripples you can see further and see who has shared your post with whom. This way you can see who are top influencers and share more with them to get your posts seen by more people.
4) Mention other brands and people directly
Try and directly link to blog authors and community members, more than likely they’ll link back to you too.
5) Start a chat or hangout
Try and do a question and answer session, either through a webcam hangout or just through posting comments on the stream.
