Its not what you say but often how you say it…
The language we choose and how we use it plays a huge role in customer experience by capturing the true power behind the right words. Words have the potential to unleash strong emotions in every one of us.
We’ve all heard about getting the right message to the right person at the right time. Relevant, targeted, personalised and timely messages should all be implemented into your marketing but without addressing the right message none of the above will be worthwhile.
By understanding the emotions and language that ultimately entice people to convert, marketers gain the power to speak to their consumers on a more personal level so they can effectively market to them.
The human brain naturally reacts to words that encourage action and produce positive images or emotions. Words like quick, improve, quality, new, unique, exciting and convenient all have the ability to draw the reader in. Experts claim that there is an extensive list of words that subconsciously grab the attention of a reader and can unleash great results. Words that suggest to your customers that they are going to save money are classed as extremely effective.
Using words that trigger feelings of falseness however could alienate visitors even faster than drawing them in. The goal is to create a need to convince customers to buy, not to make readers uncomfortable and force them to leave. Unfortunately, there’s a fine line between the two that even the most skilled marketers find difficult to master.
…The right message, to the right people, at the right time equals great success.
I saw this video the other day which proved my point perfectly…
