Practices will spend a lot of time thinking about the words on their website but it’s the images that are likely to catch people’s attention first. The imagery on your website will help you stand out from your competition, it will also increase engagement, reduce bounce rate and will help increase conversions.
So what photos/videos should you be taking?
1. Practice photos – If you have outdated photos or imagery that doesn’t properly portray the personality of your practice, you might lose out on business. Providing pictures of your practice can provide potential patients with a way of experiencing your practice before they even visit. It’s best to get a variety of internal and external pictures of the practice so that you have plenty of options for your website and marketing.
2. Staff Photos – Studies have shown that the first page patients will typically click on is the “About Us” or “Meet The Team” page so make sure you have one. Don’t be afraid to show off the team’s personality, by including fun pictures and facts as you’ll seem more friendly and approachable.
3. Before & After Photos – Before & After photos can provide patients with a visual of what their own results could look like. These pictures are also an opportunity for you to show off your skills. Don’t include any shots of tools being used, as this can make patients feel nervous. Make sure you take a series of photos of each new patient and do the same again when they have their next appointment, that way you can showcase their entire journey.
4. Testimonial Videos – Testimonial videos will make a lasting impression on a potential patient seeking treatment. Listening to an existing patient talk about their treatment and experience delivers a powerful message and will hopefully make them want to get in touch.
The first step is to think about the questions you’ll ask for the video. The more candid, the better. You’ll certainly want to provide your patient with some sort of guideline ahead of time on things to talk about, but this will be more like the questions you might ask as opposed to a written script. Video testimonials, like most marketing videos, should be kept short, anything between 45-60 seconds is recommended.
